What's New? Recent Additions and Changes to this Web Site This Web site continues to evolve as more research is done and additional material is written about APCO's early history. Meanwhile, technology is ever-changing and new products are introduced daily. Global changes have brought increased demands and stress to public-safety responders. By incorporating the new technologies and improved processes to provide even higher levels of communications security and proficiency, APCO members worldwide are assisting public-safety field personnel and providing a safer environment for both them and the general public we all serve. Higher standards for efficient communications are being set and historic events occur each day as this work is accomplished. We'll continue capturing and reporting that history, along with stories of the people responsible for it. You, as well as future generations, can witness those events again, through this Web site and the APCO Historical Collection at the Bradley University Library in Peoria, Illinois. Links to newly added materials are provided via the listings below. Images of original documents have been converted into Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format) files for you to view or download. If you need a PDF Reader, use this link to Adobe's Web site and download the latest version. When printing the PDF files, we recommend you choose the "Print to Fit" option in Adobe Acrobat's printer setup window. Many items were originally published on papers larger than a standard 8-1/2" x 11". If you have comments to submit, or notice an error in this Web site, please send our Chapter Historian an E-Mail note. Make your comments as detailed as possible. Be sure to include the date and time when you last observed the problem, as well as the name and version number of the Internet browser program(s) you were using at that time. We welcome your inputs and will continually strive to satisfy the specific interests of our readers. |
